The coronavirus pandemic created a massive impact on sports. NBA fans had to experience the negative effects of it as well. However, the gloomy days are over and NBA fans are now enjoying the pleasure of seeking how their favorite sport has returned. In the meantime, it is also important to keep in mind that the global pandemic is not yet over. Therefore, we are not too sure on how long we will be able to see the happy days.
ESPN recently conducted a research to get a better idea about the way how NBA fans would think about the future of the sport. According to that research, it was discovered that almost all the fans are happy to see their favorite game being played again. However, they have also responded to the fact that they aren’t sure on how long the joy would last. This research was conducted by ESPN in the form of a poll. In the poll, 60% of the respondents said that they are happy to see the sport again. They missed watching their favorite players in action for many months. Now the fans have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of the favorite players again.
A total number of 837 fans responded to this poll. When taking a look at the results of this poll, we can also see something surprising. That’s because around 37% of the people have responded that it is not right to play professional sports, while we are in the middle of a pandemic. The others have responded that it is possible to play professional sports, as long as appropriate precautions are taken.
Majority agrees to the fact that restarting professional NBA sports is not something wrong. However, the fans are still feeling less confident about the continuity of the professional sport. We are not too sure on how the pandemic would be like in the upcoming months. If the pandemic gets worse, we will have to take a break from professional NBA again for few more months. On the other hand, this can create a major negative impact on the sport as well.
The NBA season is scheduled to end up before 13th of October. We don’t have a lot of time left before we can catch some exciting action taking place out there in the field. Hence, it is important to keep the eyes open and see what is happening out there. In the meantime, the fans should provide their fullest support to ensure the continuity of the sport, so that it will not have to experience any major setbacks in the near future due to the pandemic.
